WHAT MENTORS DO

ENCOURAGE.
QUESTION.
TELL THE TRUTH.

GUIDE THE WORK.
DON’T TAKE IT OVER.

The girls remain the owners of their learning and decisions. Mentors provide questions, perspective, encouragement, and feedback without completing the work.

  • Do not take control of the concept
  • Do not complete assignments
  • Do not dominate team decisions
  • Do not use unapproved private channels

MENTOR FAQ

USEFUL ANSWERS.
NO HAND-WAVING.

Do I need to own a business?

No. Professional, educational, creative, leadership, and community experience may all be valuable.

What is the time commitment?

Mentors must be available throughout the six weeks that the girls are in session so they can serve as a consistent primary advisor. You do not need to attend every session in person. You will attend in person on the day you make your presentation and remain available for guidance and check-ins during the rest of the program.

Will I be assigned to a team?

Yes. Each mentor will be paired with a cohort of two girls and serve as their primary advisor throughout the six-week pilot.

Can I help if I cannot attend all six sessions?

Yes—just not as a primary mentor for this pilot. We will add you to the waitlist for future opportunities. Biz Girls expects to offer additional gatherings, webinars, events, and resources that support girls throughout their entrepreneurship journey, and we would love to involve more women as the community grows.
